VAWS designs and constructs tubewells which are bored deep into the underground aquifer, lined with casings and screens with submersible pumps installed inside for groundwater extraction.
A survey carried out by Jabatan Pengaliran dan Saliran (JPS) in 2011 concluded that 64 billion cubic meters of rainfall is caught and kept in the underground of Malaysia in a year.
Groundwater is generally safe to be used and its quality is better than surface water due to lower degree of exposure to pollution
